CR&FC edged out CH&FC 21-12 to secure the second leg of the Dialog Inter-Club Rugby Sevens 2018 which was worked off at the Racecourse rugby grounds yesterday. CH ended on number three in the first leg and the second place in the second leg, allowing them to become the overall champions for 2018. CR did not feature in the first leg.
In total, 15 teams participated in the two-day event. First leg winners Kandy SC and Havelocks SC kept away from this event. In the Final, the CR tries were scored by Reza Rafaideen, Nalin Kumara, and Kavindu Perera while for CH&FC the tries were scored by Sudam Sooriyarachchi and Anuradha Herath. Meanwhile, in the women’s Final, Navy SC outclassed Army SC 24-7.
