One last chance for the Isipathana Greens this season when they lock horns with the Defending champions, St. Peter’s College in the final encounter of the President Trophy on 15 September at the Sugathadasa Stadium in order to put an end for their unbeaten run and domination this season.

Kick off is at 4.15 p.m.

Defending League and Knock out champions, St. Peter’s College had a narrow escape in the semi-final encounter, when Wesley fought back gallantly to lose 20/27. Meanwhile it was not a cake walk for Isipathana either as they were taken into extra time by the Thomians who lost in the end 20/25.

Lads from Bambalapitiya are led by Dulaj Navodya with some outstanding players such as Emith Jayaweera, Pasindu Bandara, Yumeth Shihara and play maker and place kicker Peter under their belt.

Isipathana College led by Nisaja Jayaweera, got some outstanding players in their line-up, such as Kalindu Shenal, Abdullah Faizer and Shaahid Zumri. Without any doubt, Shaahid has been the player of the tournament with his outstanding three-quarter play. His ghosting moves have been a constant occurrence this season, proving to be a nightmare for many opposing teams. He is simply unstoppable.

This will be also a battle between the two coaching staff. St Peter’s coached by rock hard, Sanath Martis while tactical, Saliya Kumara handles his final game for the Green Shirts who will end his contract after this encounter.

Referee will be Ishanka Abeykoon.
