In a thrilling competition at the Millennium Trophy 2023, the former Wesley, Capt. Navin de Silva emerged as the grross winner, showing his exceptional golfing skills at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) Millennium Trophy 2023 Tournament which took place in the hill country recently.

Capt. Navin de Silva and former Thomian cricketer, Ken de Alwis both finished the tournament with a gross score of 22 strokes. However, Capt. Navin de Silva was declared as the winner through the count-back method, highlighting his ability to perform under pressure. Highlight of this battle was between two top class cricketers from Wesley and St Thomas’.

In the nett segment, home towns, Suresh Jayasekeran was crowned as the nett winner, while Surain Premathilake clinched the nett runner-up position adding another trophy showing his top form in tandem. Earlier the former Trinitians accounted for the monthly medal event.

Capt. Navin de Silva also took home the award for the nearest to the PIN, securing his dominance on the green. This was decided in the 17th hole for all players. Meanwhile Surain Premathilake who accounted for the monthly medal earlier was in sparkling form winning the longest drive performance with a mammoth 270 yards in the very first hole.
