Captains Game of Rugby Football: Winning start for CR

CR & FC led by Omalka Gunaratne kicked off the season on a winning note when they outclassed CH & FC 41/26 in the Captains encounter played at Longdon Place recently.

At the short breather winners led 31/12.

Tries for CR were scored by Kavindu De Costa, Janidu Dilshan, Supun Warunakulasuriya and Randitha Warunapura with the conversions and penalty taken by Reza Mubarak who crossed over from Havies. Meanwhile the CH tries were scored by Prasad Madushanka (2) and Warren Weerakoon (2) with one penalty try adding to the total. Arshad Jamaldeen did the conversions for the losers. (SJ)
