Central Asian Men Federation Challenge Cup 2023 kicks off in Colombo tomorrow

Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation will host the Central Asian Challenge Cup (Men) 2023 Volleyball Tournament, with the participation of six countries at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, to be held from 6 to 15 October.

Countries from Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are expected to participate on the above tournament.

The inaugural ceremony of the tournament will be declared open by Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena on 9 October at 2.00 p.m. while the Closing Ceremony of the Tournament will be attended by the distinguished Chief Guest – Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Roshan Ranasinghe, on 15 October at 3.00 p.m.

For the Champions of the Tournament, Runners-up and Third Place, Champion Trophies and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will receive Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals which are expected to be presented. 

The 8 special awards for the Best (Most Valuable Player, Best Outside Spiker, Best Blocker, Best Middle Blocker, Best Middle Blocker, Best Opposite, Best Setter, Best Libero) are to be presented.

The Tournament is conducted for the 2nd time, and the first tournament was held in Bangladesh in the year 2021 Sri Lanka team emerged champions.

Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation has organised an opportunity for the enthusiasts to witness all the matches free of charge at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.
