Chalitha secures 5th position at Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship

Experienced Sri Lankan golfer Chalitha Pushpika secured 5th place at the 38th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship (BAGC) which concluded in Dhaka last weekend with more than 100 top golfers from South Asia teeing off.

Meanwhile debutant, Jacob Norton ended 30th in his first overseas amateur International which was remarkable. After day two, 52 of them qualified to play on the final 2 days.

Chalitha Pushpika emerged finishing in 5th place with a total score of 300 over four rounds (74, 75, 73, 78). He was placed 3rd till the first three days but dropped down on the final day of the event.

Jacob Norton delivered a solid performance, finishing 30th with a total score of 328 (81, 83, 85, 79). Norton’s steady improvement over the rounds reflects his commitment to the sport and his potential for growth. His participation in such a prestigious event adds valuable experience to his career and positions him as a promising player for Sri Lanka’s future in golf.

Chanaka Perera representing under a private entry ended on 7th position overall with a score of 308.
