Chamari top scores but finishes on the losing again

Sri Lanka Women’s team captain Chamari Atapattu was once again the top scorer for her team Falcon but they finished on the losing side going down to table leaders Sapphires by 30 runs in their league

Replying to Sapphires total of 152-3, Falcon could make only 122-7 with Chamari making a top score of 30 off 34 balls three fours, two sixes) as their batting crumbled to the off-breaks of Sapphires skipper Pakistani Sana Mir who finished with figures of four for 15.

Chamari also took a wicket conceding 23 runs in two overs. Falcon are lying third in the standings with 10 points from four matches. Sapphires top the table with 15 points from five matches followed by Barmy Army second with 11 points from four matches.

Meanwhile Warriors, for whom another Sri Lankan Women cricketer Udeshika Prabodhani is playing, continued to remain at the bottom of the table suffering their fourth consecutive defeat losing to Spirit by 67 runs.

Udeshika, who bowls left-arm medium-pace, proved costly in her four overs conceding 45 runs as Spirit hit up 167-4 and kept Warriors down to a score of 100-8.
