Chanaka and Taniya to tee off in UAE

Sri Lanka Golf Union (SLGU) has selected two leading golfers, Chanaka Perera and Taniya Balasuriya,to participate in the upcoming Asia Pacific Golf Tournaments (APGT), for men’s and women’s, respectively,  which will take place in UAE. The men’s event will take place in Dubai from 7-14 November while the women’s encounters will be held in Abu Dhabi from 15-21 November.

Both golfers have been invited by the virtue of their World Amateur Handicap Ranking. Vinod Weerasinghe, a promising youngster, though selected will be unavailable for this event.

Meanwhile, the Golf Union has finalised different squads to be put through a strenuous training schedule in the coming months. The National Squad, Development Squad and Junior Squads will undergo on-course training in addition to physical fitness training.
