Chance for NCC to head Major Club Youth U23 Group C table

NCC gets the chance to move to the top of Group C when they host Sri Lanka Ports Authority CC at Maitland Place in the only Major Club Youth (Under 23) cricket tournament match to be played today.

This match which was originally scheduled for the opening day on September 16 was postponed due to NCC being unable to get the ground ready because of bad weather conditions.

NCC, who have won both their matches played so far, are lying second in the Group C standings with 10 points to defending champions Colts who head the table with 14 points from three games.

A win for NCC today would place them on top of the group as they have a better net run rate, and it will be to their advantage if they can win with a bonus point as well.

Only the top four teams in the four groups qualify to play in the knockout stage – the semi-finals and final.(ST)
