Chandrika De Silva of Seylan Bank wins Silver and Bronze at World Senior Badminton Championships

A proud product of Seylan Bank, Chandrika De Silva, also known as the champion of Sri Lankan women’s badminton for over a decade won the Silver in the women’s singles category and Bronze in the women’s doubles category at the recently concluded world senior badminton championship. Chandrika is an 11-time national badminton champion and a 12-time national badminton doubles champion with over 20 years of experience under her belt. 

Sharing her thoughts about the achievement Chandrika said: “I am grateful and extremely happy about this win. I competed against 29 countries in the over 40 age category and I’m proud of being able to put Sri Lanka on the map at this world championship. I am thankful to Seylan Bank for encouraging and permitting me to participate in tournaments such as this allowing me to follow my passion for Badminton.”
