Classic Travels emerged as the new winner at the 2nd edition of the Travel Trade Sports Club Indoor Softball Cricket “Sixes” 2023, sponsored by OAK Ray Hotels and Resorts, concluded on Sunday, 21 May at the Club Fusion Indoor Sports Arena, Boralesgamuwa.
Good batting by opener Aleem (23 not out with 01 six and 03 fours) and a devastating first over bowled by Sujith (3 for 3), helped Classic Travels to beat Connaissance de Ceylan by 05 runs in the final.
34 teams pooled into 09 groups participated on 04 courts.
At the completion of the round robin, the top 02 teams from Group “A” to “G” (14 teams) and the 02 top teams from Group “H” and “I” advanced in to the pre-quarter finals.
The 2022 winner, Infinity Vacations did not participate and the runners-up Jetwing Travels “A”, who played in Group “E” failed to make it to the Final round.
Awards were given away by OAK Ray Hotels and Resorts Head of Sales Duminda Rajakaruna (Chief Guest) and TTSC Officials, President Anil Hapugoda, Vice President Dilshan Gnanapragasam, Social Secretary Chinthaka Daluwatte and the two event coordinators, Marvan Madanayake and Amri Noordeen.
