The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) is set to host its 87th Club Championship in 2024, featuring both the Ladies’ and Gents’ tournaments.
With over 100 participants already registered, this event remains one of the most competitive and awaited golfing tournaments in Sri Lanka and is assured to lighten up the Hill Country.
The Club Championship will be worked off on 29 and 30 March at their Hill Country club course.
The NEGC Club Championship has a rich history, dating back to its inaugural event in 1933 at the NEGC. The first Men’s title was won by M.H. Lushington, setting the foundation for decades of golfing excellence.
In last year’s competition, Reshan Algama emerged victorious in the NEGC Club Championship, with a gross score of 158. The runner-up position was secured by Sachin De Silva, who finished with a gross score of 159, showing just how competitive the event was.
Additionally, the Graeme Sinclair Cup is scheduled for 28 March, while the Annual Gold Medal 2024 will also take place on Day 2.
With a legacy spanning nearly a century, the NEGC Club Championship continues to be a hallmark event in Sri Lankan golf, bringing together top talent and fostering sportsmanship with a weekend full of golf in the prestigious Hill Country club.
