Skipper Vimath Dinsara and opener Rehan Peiris struck fine half-centuries to guide Colombo South to a six-wicket win over Kandy in the final of the Under-17 Sri Lanka Youth League played at Samadhi ground, Anuradhapura yesterday.

Chasing a target of 193, Peiris (52 off 66 balls, 8 fours, 1 six) and Suhas Fernando (35) gave a solid opening start posting 72 off 90 balls. Dinsara took over from there adding 59 off 53 balls with Peiris and a further 58 off 69 balls with Dineth Sithumina (18*) to see them home comfortably.

Kandy was dismissed for 192 off 38.2 overs with Kaushika Kumarasinghe and Aadam Hilmy making forties and spinner Randeesha Bandaranayake capturing three wickets.
