Colombo crash out of NSL 4-day semi-finals

Colombo who had in their midst national players like Avishka Fernando, Kasun Rajitha, Prabath Jayasuriya, Nuwan Pradeep and Roshen Silva, and National Test Captain Dimuth Karunaratne, Kusal Perera, Charith Asalanka and Nuwanidu Fernando for one match has failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the ongoing National Super League four-day cricket tournament.

Colombo finished fifth and last in the standings at the end of the round robin league matches without a single outright win with 23.110 points.

The top four teams in the league round won through to the semi-finals which will commence on 23 February at the R. Premadasa Stadium and the SSC grounds. Table leaders Galle will meet fourth placed Kandy at the R. Premadasa Stadium, while second and third placed Dambulla and Jaffna will play at the SSC grounds.

The four-day final will take place at the Galle Cricket Stadium from 2 March. (ST)
