Comprehensive win for HNB Finance

Prestige Automobile Ltd., MCA ‘C’ division 50 Over League Tournament  

Gihan Anjana (6 for 21) and Umeshka Mendis (3 for 37) proved simply unplayable as they skittled out PABC Bank to give HNB Finance a comprehensive 108 runs win in the ongoing 08th BMW/Hyundai Trophy – Prestige Automobile Ltd.-powered/MCA ‘C’ division 50 Over League Tournament 2019, continued last weekend (19 and 20 January).

Std. Chartered and Asia Asset Finance made winning starts, as they scored convincing wins over Commercial Bank and JL Morison respectively. 

In a bankers’ battle, Std. Chartered after a few anxious moments were steered to safely by Hiran Rajapaksa (55 not out) and Aruna Madushanka (45) as they beat Commercial Bank by 3 wickets. 

A swashbuckling knock by Nimesh Perera (75 not out) gave Asia Asset Finance a comfortable 6 wickets win with over 23 overs to spare, over JL Morison.
