A petition and affidavit filed by CH & F C at the Civil Appeal High Court of Colombo was heard yesterday, and a decision was made not to allow any overseas players in the current Inter Club League 2018/2019 rugby season, and the Clifford Cup knock out rugby to be followed soon after early next year. This came in to effect with immediate effect. This will see Army SC, Police SC, CR & FC and Air Force not being permitted to field overseas players.

Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) had informed all the 8 clubs through an email not to field any overseas players and to respect the Court decision. The Dialog Rugby League tournament will continue as scheduled. Joseph Fuimaona (CR &FC) , Emosi Vunivosa (Police SC), Raduva Kauso (Air Force), Rura Boila and Sovesta Ualuvu (Army SC) will not be permitted to participate. Due to this action, SLR will need to carry the burden of their air tickets, which will run in to nearly Rs. 1.5 Million.
