DFCC Bank made a great escape with a one wicket, last ball win over Hemas Group, thus registering their third successive win in the ongoing 1st Coca Beverages Sri Lanka Ltd.-sponsored – MCA ‘D’ division 40 Over League Tournament 2019 continued last weekend.
DFCC earlier beat NDB Bank by 2 wickets and Colombo Dockyard by 3 wickets to remain as the only unbeaten team in group ‘A’; DFCC owe their win to Ruchira Ekanayake, who remained unbeaten with a gusty 60 runs.
Up to date, Hemas Group is living on the edge, as they won their first match by 2 runs over DPMC, then losing to Heshan Flexi by 1 wicket; the good work done by Madushanka Fonseka (62) and Shalinda Samaranayake (4 for 35) in the third game vs. DFCC thus went a-begging.
Central Finance scored their third win, with the highest team total for the weekend – 238/8 (40), as they beat Bodyline by 90 runs, riding on 2 half tons by Vikum Costha (66) and Nimesh Fernando (65).
