DFCC beat Nawaloka to become MCA C Division League champs

DFCC Bank clinched the NDB sponsored MCA C Division Cricket league with a convincing seven wicket win over Nawaloka Hospitals and swept all the awards on offer as well.

In the final played at the MCA ground on Saturday (12), Nipun Premarathne captured five wickets to restrict Nawaloka Hospitals to 136 runs and Ravindu Rathnayaka and Pawan Pathiraja shared an unbeaten 130 run fourth wicket partnership in the chase to win the game with seven wickets in hand and 160 balls to spare.

Nawaloka Hospitals 136 in 40.4 overs (Dileepa Nilupilul 51, Sanka Purna 21; Nipun Premarathne 5-35, Devindu Kekirideniya 3-15).

DFCC 137/3 in 23.2 overs (Ravindu Rathnayaka 55*, Pawan Pathiraja 69”; Sanka Purna 2-35).
