Defending champions Army SC kicks-off Major Club T20 tournament today

Defending champions Army SC will kick-off the 2023 Major Club T20 cricket tournament when they meet Chilaw Marians CC in the first of two matches to be played at the P. Sara Oval today commencing 10 a.m.

The second game scheduled at the same venue is between Moors SC and Kandy Customs SC beginning at 2 p.m.

Similarly, on the same day there will be back to back matches taking place at the Surrey Village grounds, Maggona. Panadura SC play NCC at 10 a.m. and Galle CC take on CCC at 2 p.m.

On Sunday there is a card of six matches: At SSC: Ragama CC v Bloomfield at 10 a.m. and Badureliya CC v Tamil Union at 2 p.m.

At P. Sara Oval: Nugegoda SWC v Sebastianites at 10 a.m., and SSC v Kurunegala YCC at 2 p.m.

At Panagoda: Air Force SC v Police SC at 10 a.m., and BRC v Negombo CC at 2 p.m.

Army SC won the title last year defeating Colts in the final by 45 runs.  

The groupings

Group A: Army SC, Panadura SC, Air Force SC, Police SC, NCC, Chilaw Marians CC

Group B: Colts, Ragama CC, Sebastianites, Nugegoda SWC, Bloomfield

Group C: Ace Capital, SSC, Tamil Union, Badureliya CC, Kurunegala YCC

Group D: BRC, Moors SC, Galle CC, CCC, Kandy Customs SC, Negombo CC.
