Veteran golfers, Dennath Kulatunge (Gents) and Suwaneetha Selvaratnam (Ladies) accounted for the Inaugural Monsoon Cup Golf Championship 2022 which was worked off at the Eagles Golf Links, China Bay, Trincomalee last weekend.

85 golfers. 75 Gents and 10 Lady golfers teed off for honours in a well-organised event which was very competitive and the Prize awards took place same evening at the Mabel Beach in China Bay.

Olga Ashley Herath ended runner-up in the Eagles Monsoon Cup while Roshini Sangani was the Lady runner up. 

There was an event for the Tri forces which was called the Monsoons defence Challenge trophy which took concurrently with the main event.

Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and Pakistan High Commissioner Maj Gen (Retd) Umar Farooq Burki both took part in the event also gave away the awards for the winners in a colourful ceremony.

This will be the second Board event at the Eagles Golf Link in China Bay course after the Commanders Cup.

The event was fully sponsored by Huawei Technologies.
