Familiar faces will once again be contesting the Sri Lanka Cricket elections, with Jayantha Dharmadasa and Mohan De Silva, both part of the previous SLC administration headed by Thilanga Sumathipala, set to go head to head for the post of SLC President.

While Sumathipala himself won’t be contesting this time around, owing to political commitments, he is understood to be backing De Silva, who was first Secretary and then Vice President under Sumathipala.

De Silva’s candidacy will be supported by more members of the former regime in Ravin Wickramaratne and Shammi Silva, both of whom will be running for Vice President, while Bandula Dissanayake and Lasantha Wickramasinghe will be running for Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Dharmadasa’s team meanwhile will consist of Vice Presidential candidates K. Mathivanan - also a part of the former administration - and former Sri Lankan captain Arjuna Ranatunga, as well as Nishantha Ranatunga who will be running for the post of Secretary, and Eastman Narangoda who will be contesting for the post of Treasurer.

SLC elections postponed to 21 Feb
