The Dialog Club Rugby season for 2018/19 will kick off in June when the Dialog Inter Club league 2018 will be worked off in Colombo.
Club Sevens will be used as a yardstick for the selections by Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) for the Asian Games in Indonesia and the Asia Sevens Series, which will take place in Hong Kong, South Korea and Sri Lanka.
Navy Sports Club will defend their title with stiff competition from the Clifford Cup and League champions Kandy Sports Club, who will field one team at this tournament. Former Science College player Richard Dharmapala is tipped to lead Kandy Sports Club at this event. CR, too, will field a very balanced side under skipper and national player Kavindu Perera, and will have another national sevens player, Tharinda Ratwatte, as his deputy along with experienced Omalka Gunaratne and Reza Rafaideen in the starting line-up.
