Dialog Enterprise Rotary Metro Par 3 Golf Classic 2018 on 27 Oct.

Dialog Enterprise supports Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan community service projects

The Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan, in partnership Dialog Enterprise, will stage the Par 3 Golf Classic on 27 October from 7.30 a.m. onwards. 

The event, which is being organised for the third consecutive year by the Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan, promises a day of competitive golf for the members of the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC).  

The Dialog Enterprise Rotary Metro Par 3 Golf Tournament is a unique event, where the entire course is converted to a par 54 course - the only one of its kind held in Sri Lanka. With the holes being of various lengths but all playing to a par 3 each, this tournament presents a challenging yet fun outing for the players.

This annual golfing event is held with the objective of collecting funds to aid multiple community development projects initiated, monitored and managed by the Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan. The partnership of Dialog Enterprise reiterates the company’s commitment to the advancement of the sport in Sri Lanka but also to the enrichment of local communities.

The day will be filled with many fun activities in addition to golf. Speaking at the launch event, Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan (RCCM) President Neluka Silva said: “It is a tremendous privilege to organise the Dialog Enterprise Rotary Metro Par 3 Golf Classic 2018 with the support of RCGC. This is our first fundraising event for the year. Through this and subsequent fundraisers, we will fund more than a dozen projects serving humanity such as Sri Lanka’s first child-friendly police station that includes a separate building in Ragama built entirely with funds raised by our club.”

“Our ongoing projects include ‘Little Minds/Strong Values’, a library of videos using songs, short stories and idioms targeted at preschool children highlighting strong positive values; a vocational program for underprivileged children at Gamini Vidyalaya sponsoring English, dance and IT classes, our annual flagship project Sunshine Games - a sports carnival for 1000 differently-abled children, supporting the RCGC caddies’ and minor staff children’s school book fund and funding for CCC Foundation – CCC Line and CCC House, a transit home for cancer patients. The Dialog Enterprise Rotary Metro Par 3 Golf Classic 2018 is set to offer a memorable day of top quality golf at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. This, the only Par 3 tournament in the country, is a popular event amongst club members and is held in a fun atmosphere with live music and entertainment at the gala awards ceremony held on the evening of the event.
