Dialog Schools Rugby K/O semi-finals this weekend 

The top four teams of the Dialog Schools Rugby Knockout tourney, Isipathana College, Colombo, S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia, Wesley College, Colombo and St. Joseph’s College, Colombo will scrum down this weekend for a slot in the grand finale of the much-anticipated top school’s rugby tournament.  Today, the newly crowned Dialog Schools League champs, the Green Machine, Isipathana College, Colombo will take on a competitive Thomian XV for a birth in the final of the Dialog Schools K/O Championship. 

On Sunday, the 4 September 2022, the boys from Darley Road, St. Joseph’s College, Colombo who emerged runners-up in the League title, will scrum down against a determined Wesley College to book a place in the final of the Knockout competition.

 In the quarterfinals of the KO tourney, the Double Blues, Wesley College, Colombo, convincingly beat Science College, Mt. Lavinia 38-00, while a spirited Josephian performance ended Anthony’s College Kantugastota’s (34-14) hopes of securing a slot in the semifinals. 

Isipathana College, Colombo (38 points), brushed aside Dharamaraja College, Kandy (06 points), while S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia beat Vidyartha College, Kandy (35-19).  Matches, including the second leg of the 76 Bradby Shield encounter between Royal College, Colombo and Trinity College, Kandy will also be telecasted LIVE via Dialog Television channel 140, streamed on thepapare.com and the Dialog VIU mobile app in the interest of all present boys, old boys, parents, supporters, well-wishers and the rugby-loving public.
