Peter’s beat Joes

Defending champions, St. Peter’s College continued their winning form when they beat St. Joseph’s College by 25/10 at Bambalapitiya last weekend. Peterites scored 4 tries, 1 conversion and one penalty while Joes replied with 1 try, 1 conversion, 1 penalty.

At the short breather winners led 18/3.



Kingswood register first win for the season

Kingswood College put up a brave effort in order to register their first win this season when they beat Thurstan 31/17 to register a bonus point win at the Bogambara Stadium in kandy last weekend.

At the short breather Randles Hill outfit led 12/0.



Big win for Thomians

Thomians displayed cohesive rugby to register a comfortable 29/15 win over DS Senanayake College to end their unbeaten run of their opponents.

With this win, Thomians too, have an opportunity for the top 2 position for Super Round along with DS and Isipathana.



Zahira shock fancied Vidyartha

Hosts Zahira shocked a much-fancied Vidyartha outfit 13/10 in their Dialog Schools League Under-20 rugby encounter which concluded at Maradana last weekend.



 Isipathana edge out Trinity

Isipathana pulled off a hard-fought win over Trinity College 15/13 at Havelock Park last weekend.

At the short breather Trinity led 10/3.

Isipathana scored 2 tries, 1 conversion and 1 penalty while Trinity scored their points through 2 tries and 1 penalty. Isipathana’s second try was questionable one which appeared to be a knock on in the last few minutes of the game.

With Trinity losing out their second game this season and their chances get even more tougher for Super round. They are left with Science, Rajans and Antonians game come their way.

So far in the league Isipathana, St. Peter’s and Royal remain as the three unbeaten teams in the League.



Second win for Dharmaraja

Dharmraja College registered their second win this season when they beat Antonians by 24 points (4 tries, 2 conversions) to 6 points (2 penalties) in their Dialog Schools Under-19 Rugby League encounter at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy yesterday.

At the short breather Rajans led 5/3.

Exchanges were even in early stages of the game both matching equally in all departments but come the latter half Rajans played with better coordination adding three more second half tries.

Earlier in the season they beat Sumangala and lost out to Royal and defending champions. St. Peters.

Meanwhile Antonians going through a bad season lost all their four games till now. They lost out to Science, S. Thomas and DS in their previous encounters.

In another encounter played behind closed doors Science beat Sumangala 41/12 at Police Park yesterday.

At the short breather winners led 17/7.
