Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity provider, Dialog Axiata PLC in its continuous vision to empower the champions of tomorrow has come forth to sponsor the U-19 Women’s National Cricket Team for the inaugural International Cricket Council U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2023, to commence in South Africa from 4-29 January 2023.
The Sri Lanka U-19 Women’s National team will be captained by opening batswomen Vishmi Gunaratne, while the national squad for the T20 World Cup will include; Dahami Sanethma, Umaya Rathnayake, Rashmi Nethranjalee, Rashmika Sewwandi, Dewmi Vihanga, Manudi Nanayakkara, Sumudu Nisansala, Pamoda Shaini, Vidushika Perera, Dulanga Dissanayake, Rishmi Sanjana, Nethmi Senarathne, Harini Perera and Vihara Sewwandi.
The team will be under the watchful eyes of former national women’s all-rounder Shashikala Siriwardena, who will be their head coach for the showpiece event.
Sri Lanka’s first match will be against the United States of America on 14 January and the team will go onto play Bangladesh on 16 January and a formidable Australia XI two days later.
The grand finale will be played at the Senwes Park, Potchefstroom, on 29 January 2023.
