Dilroy, Aaqil, Dilum and Gihan off to Dubai

Asia Rugby (AR) will have its only Sevens for 2021 today and tomorrow will see four Sri Lankan officiating in the event.

Veteran former referee and World Rugby Educator Dilroy Fernando will perfume his duties as performance Reviewer, while Aaqil Jamaldeen, Dilum Deeshana will officiate as Assistant Referees. on the following week (26 and 27 November) Dilroy Fernando will officiate as the Referees Manager while Aaqil Jamaldeen and Dilum Deeshana will officiate as Referees in the Division 2 Asia Rugby Seven’s in Dubai. 

At the World Series event in first week-end of December, Gihan Yatawara will officiate as match officials in all categories as Referee, Assistant Referee in the Social Tournaments which is also at the top level as top clubs, top schools from countries do take part in both men’s and women’s.

SAGT, a strong supporter of rugby, is partnering with Sri Lanka Referees Society making a multiple year commitment. He added that SAGT’s partnership with Sri Lanka Referees Society will target new referees training and development and to develop and implement a strategic plan for promoting women Match Officials (MO) as an integral resource of the Sri Lanka Referees Society.
