Sri Lanka Test captain Dimuth Karunaratne made a quiet debut in English county cricket for Yorkshire scoring 13 and 36 in the match against Northamptonshire at Northampton.
Karunaratne shared an opening stand of 73 with Adam Lyth in the Yorkshire second innings of 406-3 declared which left Northamptonshire with a target of 499 to chase in the fourth innings.
Karunaratne will play a further two matches for Yorkshire against Kent starting on 28 April at Leeds, and against Essex commencing on 5 May at Chelmsford before returning to Sri Lanka to lead the national team on their two-Test tour to Bangladesh.
