Donald Steel Trophy 2022: Tee off tomorrow

The 24th Donald Steel Trophy 2022 will take place at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VGCR) course on 5 February.

Already more than 100 have entered for this event.

Tee off is expected to be at 7 a.m. with the prize giving taking place the same night at the VGCR from 7 p.m. onwards.

Chamath Kulasinghe won the initial trophy in 1999 and most wins were registered by Martin G. Ebert (3), Sidath Wettimuny (3) and Ian Tait (3). Youngest to win this event was Haroon Aslam when he accounted for the trophy when he was just 16 years. 

This year there could be some exciting youngsters on the card. One of them being the 13-year-old Colombo International School student Reshan Algama who was in top form at the Berdette trophy. He is in prime form at present with his long-range drives plus pin point accuracy in putting could be a threat for many of the players.
