Entries called for inaugural Novices Age-group Badminton Championship

Entries are now open for the first-ever Novices Age-group Badminton Championship to be held in Sri Lanka. Under the organisation of the Sri Lanka Badminton (SLB) and the coordination of the Regional Development Committee, the championship is scheduled to take place from 28 September to 2 October at the New Saniro Airport Sports Complex in Naiwala, Dewalapola.

Entries will close on 20 September.

The Championships will see events conducted under the age categories Under-11, 13, 15, 17, and 19 for boys and girls. The opening ceremony will be held on 28 September, and the preliminary matches will take place from day 1 until 30 September. The semi-final and pre-final matches will be held on 1 October, while the final and closing ceremony will take place on 2 October.

Winners, runners-up, and semi-finalists will receive valuable trophies, medals, and certificates. Hosting the inaugural edition of the Championship, the SLB Regional Development Committee aims to open the doors to the national level for school-level novice athletes.
