Entries for Katukurunda 2022 the tarmac mass start racing event organised and conducted by Sri Lanka Motor Sports (SLAS) in partnership with Sri Lanka Air Force will close on 18 November.
The meet will be held at the Sri Lanka Air Force tarmac at Katukurunda on Sunday 4 December and competitors are requested to enter online at www.slas.lk. No late entries will be accepted under any circumstances.
Entries will be accepted for the following events:
1. SLE Cars up to 1000cc One make Nissan March
2. SLE Cars up to 1300cc Ford Laser / Mazda 323
3. SLN Cars up to 1300cc Ford Laser / Mazda 323
4. SLN Cars up to 1500cc Ford Laser / Mazda 323
5. SLA Mini 7
6. SLA Cars up to 1050 cc
7. SLH Cars up to 1600cc One make Honda
8. SLH Cars up to 2000cc One make Subaru Legacy
9. SLH Cars up to 1275cc One Make Mini
10. SLGT cars up to 3500cc
11. Formula McLaren 1300cc
12. Formula Ford 1600cc
13. Modified Formula Cars up to 1665cc
SLAS President Ashshar Hameem said that entry fees will be donated to the Indira Cancer Trust.
SLAS took the initiative to organise and conduct ‘Katukurunda 202’ under strict health regulations last year, when the country was recovering from the covid 19 pandemic. No spectators were allowed for the 2021 event but the organisers have decided to admit a limited number of spectators on 4 December. Tickets could be purchased online by logging on to www.slas.lk.
Nippon Paints, SLT- Mobitel, Exide, Mobil, Wurth, Pink Auto Care, Duluck and Freelan Industries have agreed to make Katukurunda 2022 a reality.
