Expolanka Freight Champions of SLFFA Cricket Sixes 2019

The Sri Lanka Logistics & Freight Forwarders’ Association (SLFFA) once again concluded a very successful and entertaining Cricket Sixes on Saturday 7 September at the P. Saravanamuttu  Stadium (Oval), where 48 enthusiastic teams from SLFFA member companies participated. This is the sixth instance the Association organised this event which has now become a popular event in the SLFFA events calendar. 

The Main sponsor for the event was Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd. Platinum sponsors were Sri Lankan Cargo and Sri Lankan Airlines. Gold sponsors of the event were You Cab, Maersk Lanka Ltd. and Qatar Cargo.  

SLFFA member Expolanka Freight Ltd. won the Championship Challenge Trophy (sponsored by CL Synergy Ltd.) while the Runners-Up were Globactiv Logistics Ltd. To generate interest SLFFA added two more championship categories; Plate Championship and Bowl Championship and Salota International Ltd. and Benchmark Logistics International Ltd. won the trophies respectively. 

Apart from winning a cash prize, the Champion team (Expolanka Freight) also received individual Airline tickets courtesy of Sri Lankan Cargo and Sri Lankan Airlines. 

Individual trophies were also awarded to the Best Batsman and Best Bowler for the matches. Sudesh Madushanka of Scanwell Logistics Ltd. won the Trophy for the Best Batsman and Amith Fernando of CL Synergy Ltd. won the Trophy for the Best Bowler.

Other individual trophies were also presented to the Player of the Final, Best Female Player and the Player of the Tournament.   Lahiru Madushanka of Expolanka Freight Ltd. won the Player of the Final and Hashan Hewanayake of Expolanka Freight Ltd. emerged as the Player of the Tournament. Dilini Subasinghe of Globactiv Logistics Ltd. won the Trophy for the Best Female Player.

The Chief Guest for the event was SLFFA Immediate Past Chairman Jagath Pathirane. The Sponsors were represented by Thimira Manamendra from Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd. and Chamara Ranasinghe and Clifford Rodrigo from SriLankan Cargo were present at the awards ceremony as well. Rochana Jayawardana from You Cab and Sandun Bandara from Maersk Lanka Ltd. too attended the awards ceremony.
