Team Fairfirst showcased its extracurricular excellence by securing the championship title at the 2023 Mercantile League Netball Tournament Open Mix category for the second consecutive year.

The thrilling final, held at the indoor courts of New Saniro Airport Sports Complex Hotel in Gampaha, saw Team Fairfirst triumph over Team Seylan Bank with a final score of 18-12. 

Over the years, the entity was able to secure several titles in annual netball tournaments, through which they developed their skills to achieve the title of champions this year. Both teams; the women’s and mixed, portrayed their noteworthy talents giving their maximum effort. The mixed team emerged as champions among eight teams competing in two groups. In addition, Nimesh Fernando won the special award Best Male Player of the Tournament. This accomplishment was enabled by the combined efforts and dedication of the management and employees alike.

 Fairfirst›s mixed netball team Captain Dilshani Samarasinghe attributed their success to two key factors: the unwavering dedication of her team and coach, and the steadfast support given by the company to its employees in their sporting endeavours. She expressed her team’s commitment to maintain this momentum and elevate the Fairfirst name as a prominent company nationwide. 

The netball team manager, Pruthivi Perera, congratulated the team on their outstanding performance and highlighted the journey they had undertaken to achieve this remarkable feat.
