All Segment winners with DFCC and RCGC officials

The Faldo Series Sri Lanka 2025, powered by DFCC Bank and hosted by the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), concluded in grand style with Haroon Aslam (Boys 17 to 21), Jevahn Sathasivam (Boys 13 to 16) and Kaya Daluwatte (Girls 13 to 21) winning their segments with outstanding golf in the greens to become champions. 

The tournament brought together the nation’s brightest young talents and International competitors, delivering breath-taking performances across all categories in front of an appreciative crowd at the RCGC.

With the champions from each division set to represent Sri Lanka at the Faldo Series Grand Final which will take place during the month of April in Vietnam.

The overwhelming success of the tournament was made possible by DFCC Bank’s sponsorship, which reflects their values of growing together with the communities they serve. Supporting junior golf amplifies these values, empowering the next generation of athletes and fostering a sense of development and shared progress.  

The 2025 edition of the Faldo Series Sri Lanka has truly raised the bar for junior golf in the region with 110 golfers inclusive of 15 overseas juniors teeing off in this mega event. 



Haroon’s overseas exposure guides him to win

Haroon Aslam the former Trinitian representing Victoria Golf Resort (VGR) clinched the top spot in the Boys 17-21 category with a composed final round of 71, finishing with a total score of 212. 

Haroon was given a torrid time by Yannik Kumara who too showed super form in the greens tied on day 1, 2 and till the 17th hole on the 3rd and final day on top position. Haroon’s steady play under pressure put his position to end on top in the end. Haroon currently studying and playing Golf in USA was on a short holiday returns back with a win. Yannik in the end fell short by a solitary stroke. Meanwhile Indian junior, Shamit Dakhane was placed second in this segment with 213 strokes missing out on a solitary stroke as well. 



Jevahn stamps his class in the Boys 13-16 category

Jevahn Sathasivam, the reigning junior champion showed his brilliance with a stunning final round of 69, earning him a total of 212 and the division title.

Jevahn has been in exceptional form over the last three months, capping off his recent successes with a prestigious victory at the Nick Faldo Series. This win follows back-to-back triumphs at the Sri Lanka Amateur Open and The Junior Open. Throughout these tournaments, he faced strong competition from top local and regional players, but his consistent under-par performances demonstrated his ability to perform under pressure. He will be leaving to USA for College Golf in the near future.

He edged out early leader on day 1 and 2, Reshan Algama, who finished with a total score of 214 falling 2 strokes behind. Reshan who was leading the initial two days, lost his accuracy in the 7th hole and recovery was tough afterwards. Vivaan Ubhayakar from India was placed third. 



One horse race for Kaya

The Girls 13-21 segment belonged to the sensational Kaya Daluwatte with her overseas exposure in India helped her lot capping off the tournament with a fantastic round of 70 to post a total of 208, securing an emphatic win. Kaya’s consistent performance across three rounds reinforced her position as one of Sri Lanka’s brightest golfing talents.   She pushed Indian girl Dia Cris Kumar to number 2 position but with a huge lead of 17 strokes ahead.  Meanwhile Jeeva Ashok from India ended on third place. 



Faldo Futures

Boys 11-12


In the Boys 11-12 division, Lavindu Premaratna triumphed with a commanding final score of 108, while Revaan Amarasinghe finished second at 113. Lavindu, great future ahead of him who is from Anuradapura with lot of potential to go the next level is a composed golfer. Darren Lai of Hong Kong completed this segment on number 3 position. 



Girls 11-12

This division was led by Genuli Weerakoon (Anu) with a total score of 126, followed by Nimasha Iddamalgoda (Anu) at 161. Both Genuli and Nimasha from Anuradapura showed lot of promise for future of golf from the area with less facilities. Mihneli Herat completed on number 3 position. 



Boys 9-10

Vivaan Singh from India won the segment with a total score of 113 while Jaeden Sathasivam, younger brother of Jevahn ended runner up in the same segment. Abiman Abeywardhana completed this segment on number 3 position. 



Girls 9-10 

Aashna Amogna from India won the event pushing Brighton Chan from Hong Kong to runner up position. Ananya Kishanthan completed the segment on number 3.



 Boys/Girls 7-8

Thewusas Etipola won the segment while T Onitha ended runner up in this segment. Rahein Manatunga ended on number 3 position.
