Fazal nominated for President position by WPRFU

Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU) announced its members for the key positions at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) which will take place on 21 January.

Among the prominent names, former Peterite Fazal Mohammed emerged as the leading contender for the President position. Having handled some leading role in WPRFU and SLR he comes in wealth of experience in rugby and finance as he was former banker.

For the Deputy President role another Peterite and former leading referee, Roshan Deen was nominated. Another top class referee and former Trinity rugby player, S.W. Chang got better voting for the Vice Presidents position.

Secretary position saw Waruna De Silva securing a decisive victory while for the Treasurer role, A.H.M. Riyas was the nominee.

There were also 7 nominees for the Committee Members position. They are Col. Samantha Samarasinghe, ASP Ajantha Rodrigo, Commodore T.D. Abeysundara, Chaminda Yapa, Yapa, Brig Sunil Ranasinghe, Mohan De Silva and Lakmal Jayawardena.

In the Female Representative category, Prof. Samantha Nanayakkara stood out.
