First QR Code enabled stamp issued to mark WC victory anniversary
The first QR code-enabled stamp was issued in Sri Lanka to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Sri Lanka’s 1996 Cricket World Cup victory during the reception hosted by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to the World Cup winning team at Temple Trees yesterday.
The first stamp was presented to the Prime Minister by Minister of Mass Media Keheliya Rambukwella, under whom the Department of Postal Services also comes under. World Cup winning Captain Arjuna Ranatunga was presented with the second stamp by Minister of Mass Media Keheliya Rambukwella and the Post-Master General Ranjith Ariyaratne.
