Five players from the Central Province will represent the Sri Lanka Under 19 outfit at the Bangladesh Under 19 encounters which will commence on 15 October at Dambulla. Both teams will play 5 One Day matches at the same venue.
Antonians will have three players while Trinity will field two of them. One player from Trinity and same number from Sylvester’s could not make it to the final 20 but in the original squad of 26 players under training. Vibavith Ehelapola (Trinity) and Maleesha Silva (Sylvester’s) both were not selected for the final 20 squad for this tour but are hopeful of making a comeback against the England Under 19 outfit which will take place shortly.
The five players are Chamidu Wickramasinghe, Trevin Mathews and Lahiru Abeysinghe (all from St. Anthony’s College Katugastota) and Pawan Pathiraja and Matheesha Pathirana (both from Trinity College).
Matheesha Pathirana, carbon copy of Lasith Malinga’s bowling action, is the only player who represented the national Under 19 outfit previously. (SJ)
