Four schools from Kandy booked their berth in round 2 of the Sri Lanka Schools Under-17 cricket encounter which has now been reduced to 32 teams.
Trinity College, Dharmaraja College, St. Sylvester’s College and St. Anthony’s College qualified for the second round while Kingswood College and Vidyartha College missed out on a berth among the final 32 schools.

- Group Q – S. Thomas’ Mount. Lavinia, Piliyandala Central, Mahanama, Ananda
- Group R – St. Peter’s, Joseph Vaz, St. John’s Jaffna, Royal Colombo
- Group S – Isipathana, Dharmapala, St. Sylvester’s, St. Sebastian’s
- Group T – St. Joseph’s Colombo, Dharmasoka, Vidyaloka Galle, Thurstan
- Group U – Gurukula, St. Aloysius’, Richmond, St. Anthony’s Wattala
- Group V – St. Anthony’s Kandy, Dharmaraja, St. Peter’s, Negombo, St. Thomas’ Matara
- Group W - Trinity, Maliyadeva, Moratu Vidyalaya, Mahinda Galle (SJ)
