Fully equipped cricket academy opens in Jaffna

Jaffna Stallions conducted a talent search in Jaffna and Vavuniya

The first owners of Jaffna team in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) Jaffna Stallions are going to start a well-equipped cricket academy in Jaffna next month. 

The construction work of the new indoor stadium is 80% complete and it will be a centre not only for cricket but also for badminton. 

The academy will be built on land in front of St. John’s College.

Jaffna Stallions were the champions of the first two LPL tournaments under the leadership of Thisara Perera.

Recently Stallions had a talent search in Jaffna and Vauniya by former Sri Lanka fast bowler Chaminda Vaas supported by former first-class player Jeganathan for the Stallions academy.

Dambulla junior selector Ranjan Paranavithana participated as an observer.
