Galle CC Captained by Amith Eranda pulled off an exciting two-wicket win against Malay CC with three balls to spare to win the SLC Tier B 50-over tournament in the final played at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.

Invited to bat first, Malay CC were dismissed for 205 failing to bat out their full quota of overs. Buddhika Madushan top scored for Malay CC with a solid 67 off 104 balls (3 fours, 2 sixes). Left-arm spinners Amitha Kaushalya (4/37) and Chanaka Devinda (3/35) were the pick of the Galle bowlers.

Galle CC in their turn also struggled against the Malay CC spinners with no batsmen being able to play a dominant innings although five of them got into the 20s. They slumped to 129-6, but some staunch batting by the late order and tail saw them recover to 191-8 from which point Nimanda Subasinghe in company with Chanaka Devinda got the team over the line with Devinda finishing the match off with two fours off Buddhika Madushan in the final over.
