Today (11), the Final of the Sri Lanka Cricket Provincial 50 Over Cricket will see Colombo and Galle battle it out at the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium in a day encounter.

Malinga, a major threat for Colombo

The game is scheduled to start at 9:45 a.m.

All eyes will be on Galle skipper Lasith Malinga who had a superb exhibition of fast bowling when he returned from the IPL from the Mumbai Indians game where he ripped through the Kandy batting with a seven-wicket haul plus his leadership too will be considered by the national selectors.

In batting Kusal Mendis and Sandun Weerakody had a good start and will be expected to continue their good work in the Final as well.

For Colombo led by Chandimal, Shehan Jayasuriya, the century maker in the first round game, will be in the limelight along with inconsistent Lahiru Thirimanne. In the bowling department along with Lasith Malinga, Dushmantha Chameeratoo will be knocking at the doors for ICC World Cup 2019selection.

Akila Dananjaya coming back from his new bowling action settled well to take five wickets and will be expected to be on top of the Galle batsmen. Mohamed Shiraz, the pacie from Madawala Central, failed and will need to polish up not only bowling but fielding as well if he is lucky enough to get into the starting line-up.
