De SilvaSixty eight off 25 balls with nine fours and four sixes by Gayan Rupasinghe and nine wickets shared between Tharana Ravindu, Pujitha Uduwana, Harshanath Rajendran and Moditha Weeerasinghe helped Marketers defeat the much fancied Lawyers by 8 wickets and qualify for the final of the Professional’s Cricket League 2024. Qualifiers 2 of the PCL was played at the Bloomfield ground on Wednesday.
Being invited to bat first the lawyers were bowled out for an under par 121 in 17.2 overs which the Marketers chased down with 37 balls to spare Gayan Rupasinghe and Geshan Wimaladharma set the pace for the win with 79 in the first power play while Ashan and Udara Peiris figured in an unbeaten third wicket stand of 36 to clinch the match.
