Adrito Ghosh scored a defiant unbeaten century (114* off 213 balls, 15 fours) and shared in two half-century partnerships to enable Bangladesh’s reply with 233-9 to Sri Lanka’s first innings of 285-8 declared on the second day of the first Under-17 three-day match played at the Galle International Cricket Stadium yesterday.
Ghosh added 53 for the second wicket with Captain Ridoy Hossain (37), and 62 for the seventh with Abdur Rahim (28).
Sri Lankan opening bowler Rasith Nimsara finished the day with figures of 4/36 and Abheeth Paranawidana with 2/48.
Earlier, Sri Lanka added a further 40 runs to their overnight total of 240-7 through their eighth wicket pair Gimhana Rasanjana, who completed a fine half-century (51 off 77 balls, 7 fours), and Rasith Nimsara (4*), before declaring.
Today is the final day of the match.
