Former Thurstan College left-arm slow orthodox spinner 23-year-old Naveen Gunawardene took his maiden five-for (5 for 28) to bowl Kurunegala YCC to a comprehensive nine-wicket win over Nugegoda S&WC in a Major Limited Overs cricket match played at Moratuwa yesterday.
Nugegoda were bundled out for 103 in a game reduced to 26 overs a side, and Kurunegala YCC powered by Dhanushka Dharmasiri’s 61-ball fifty reached their target in the 23rd over losing one wicket.
In the only other match played yesterday rain forced a no-result between CCC and Negombo CC at Katunayake.
