In the second semifinal played at Army Grounds, Dombagoda on Wednesday, HNB beat Singer Sri Lanka by 13-runs on the D/L method.
The 50-over game got off to a start in good sunshine, with Singer sent into bat. However after 16 overs rain forced the game to be halted with Singer on 54 for 2.
Following a lengthy delay, play resumed with the game reduced to 38 overs a side. Singer were then bowled out for 125 in their 38 overs.
Through the use of the D/L method HNB was set a revised target of getting 152 runs in 38 overs.
The weather then intervened once again when HNB was on 125 for 4 in 31 overs, well ahead of the D/L par score of 112, as the game was called to a close and HNB came away winners by 13 runs. Madawa Warnapura had kept the score board ticking with a well compiled 45.
HNB will meet MAS Silueta in the Final on Saturday, 9 November at the MCA grounds.
