HNB emerged as the champions of the ‘A’ Division, delivering a dominant performance against MAS, beating them 5/0 in the Mercantile Hockey Association-conducted encounter at the Sri Lanka Air Force Hockey Ground in Ekala in the final.
Menula Hewawasam netted two goals, while Damith Bandara, Dhanushka Fernando, and Nimesh Gunasena added one goal each, to secure the win for the banking outfit.
Commercial Bank claimed the runner-up spot in the ‘A’ Division with a hard-fought 5/2 victory over Sampath Bank. Marlon De Alwis led the charge for Commercial Bank with two goals, supported by Milina Bandaranayake and R.A.D. Thilanka, who each scored once.
Sampath Bank’s Ashen Ekanayake and Sameera Ushantha scored a solitary goal each. In the ‘B’ Division, Seylan Bank emerged as champions with a decisive 10/0 win over HSBC. J. Irshard was the star of the match, scoring an impressive seven goals, with additional goals from Dimuthu Udayanga, S.R.M. Fazly, and Basura Ariyasinghe.
Hayleys Group secured the runner-up position in the ‘B’ Division after a commanding 13/0 victory over SLT-Mobitel. Bodhika Dias scored five goals, while K.D.M.H. Jayaweera added three. D.M.C.R. Dissanayake, W.D.K. Silva, and Indeera Bandara also contributed to the scoreline.
In the ‘C’ Division, Orient Finance claimed the championship by defeating HNB B with a 6/0 victory. Heshan Rangana led the way with three goals, followed by Nuwan Seneviratne with two, and T. Chandrasiri with one. NTB finished as the runner-up in the division.
