Harin meets Qatar Football Chief to promote sports tourism 

Tourism Minister Harin Fernando last week held discussions with the Qatar Football Association President Sheik Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al-Thani on building an International Football Stadium in Sri Lanka.

Minister Fernando said the meeting with the Qatar Football Association President focused on promoting sports tourism.

“A fruitful discussion regarding helping Sri Lanka, especially about sports tourism,” Tourism Minister said via Twitter.

Fernando who is also the Land Minister pointed out that the matter of providing a plot of land to build an international football stadium in Sri Lanka had also been discussed.
