Haroon Aslam golfing sensation from Central Hills

Haroon Aslam wrote history by becoming the first Trinitian schoolboy to get into the national golf squad recently.
Haroon represents the Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VGCR) and Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) was named along with some other top-class players such as Vinoth Kumar, Uchitha Akash, Chanaka Perera, Chalitha Pushpika and Yannik Kumara in the national squad by the Sri Lanka Golf Union (SGU). Yannik is yet another sensational youngster from British School of Colombo who is the current Club Championship winner at Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC).
Yet another top-class junior golfer, 13-year-old Reshan Algama from Colombo International School (CIS) Colombo who played top-class golf at RCGC got in to the Development squad. In the Women’s segment Taniya Balasuriya, Kaya Daluwatte, Grace Yatawara and Kayla Perera got selected into the national pool.

Development squad: Roshan Prasad, Januka Dilshan, Lamidu Rahinika, W.N. Waidyaratne, R.M.S. Rupasinghe, P. Hemantha, Vinoth Weerasinghe, S. Sanathchandra, Reshan Algama, R. Ilangarathna, Sampath Kelum and K. Danushan
