Haroon and Reshan stamp their class

Reshan Algama won the Silver segment in tandem

Top class young golfing sensations, Haroon Aslam (18) and Reshan Algama (14) both stamped their

class at the Regional Junior Golf Championship 2022 which took place at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VGCR) recently by winning the gold and silver segments respectively.

Haroon accounted for the Gold Division 15 to 18 years while Danushan Kumar (2) and Sankanath Hesara (3) ended in the next two position in the gold event. In the Girls segment Dinumi Sanjana won the event. 

Meanwhile Reshan Algama was in sparkling form in the Central Hills when he accounted for the silver segment in tandem. He was the defending champion in this segment. Jacob Norton and Adithiya Weerasinghe ended at number two and three respectively. 

The notable performance by 12-year-old Keshav Algama (12) who ended on number four position in the silver segment who is Reshan Algama’s younger brother. A student at CIS Colombo showed what is to expect in the coming years with some top-class golf.

Bronze division saw Thejaz Rathiskhanth winning with Kaitiya Norton ending on number two. Copper division saw Jaeden Sathasivam accounting for the title.
