Haroon Aslam fresh from his representation at the Indonesian Golf event will be one of the top contenders for the July National Ranking Golf Championship is set to tee off at the picturesque Victoria Golf and Country Resort in Digana today drawing some of the top amateur golfers in the country. 

This tournament promises to be a show piece of talent and competition, with a mix of seasoned players and rising stars ready to battle it out on the greens.

Haroon Aslam, recently competed in Indonesia and showed his abilities on an international stage. Aslam›s experience and form will be crucial as he aims to make a mark in the national ranking championship. He is one of the top contenders for the top position.

Among the promising young talents is Adhithya Weerasighe from Anuradhapura. At just 14 years old, Weerasighe has already demonstrated significant potential, earning him a spot among the top amateurs in the championship. His ability to compete with the best at such a young age has made him a player to watch.

Uchitha Ranasinghe, the defending champion, Chanaka Perera and Chalitha Pushpika all three will be the players to be watched out for. Juniors, including Yannik Kumara and Jacob Norton are eyeing the top of the leader-board.

Anura Rohana, Sri Lanka›s top professional golfer, is scheduled to play in the tournament, bringing a touch of star power to the event. Rohana›s participation is a rare opportunity for local amateurs to compete alongside a player of his calibre, and it is expected to add a vibrant element to the championship.

However, Reshan Algama will not be participating in the Digana tournament as he is currently playing in the United States while Jevahn Sathasivam and Kaya Daluwatte too will miss out this event. Both played in Scotland last weekend.

Nearly 70 golfers will tee off with six Ladies registered which is the highest number in the recent past.
